Note: Always replace your struts in pairs, where applicable. Most liftgates have a strut on each side. Failure to replace both struts can result in a warped or damaged hinge.
Gas Strut with Exceptional Stability
Most gas struts consist of a tube filled with pressurized nitrogen gas, a piston, and rod. The Atlas Lift strut, however, has a dynamic damping groove inside the tube that regulates gas movement across the piston. This ensures your liftgate stays open when you want it open and shuts slowly without slamming. Lastly, in contrast to struts that only have gas in the chamber, a few drops of oil have been mixed in to help seal the piston and lubricate the rod. This allows your liftgate to move more smoothly as the rod travels in and out of the tube.

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at this Atlas Lift Custom-Fit Liftgate Gas Strut. Now this is a custom-fit part. It is designed to fit the 2011 to 2017 Lexus CT200H vehicles. And on a custom-fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model of vehicle, and it'll show you if this will work for your application. Now, if your vehicle's liftgate keeps closing while you're unloading cargo, it's pretty much time to change your strut out.
This part here will replace one worn or damage gas strut on your vehicle's liftgate. They do use a dampening groove, which inside the tube prevents bouncing, provides a nice smooth operation in any temperature. It extends the rod out from the tube to open your liftgate, and it'll hold it in place. And then it also compresses the rod slowly to close the liftgate without slamming shut. It does also use an internal wiper to prevent sticking, reduces friction by lubricating the rod with oil.
And this is a quick, tool-free installation. It will connect directly to your vehicle's OEM fittings. On this one, on each end, you can see the connection type is a ball socket connection. It is a black coated steel too, has a nitrite or nitrate-coated rod, which is rust-resistant. It is for a quantity of one gas strut.
Length on this when it's fully extended is 17 and 3/16 inches long. And when it's fully compressed is about 10 and 5/8 inches long. One note I wanna mention is always replace your struts in pairs where applicable, 'cause most liftgates have a strut on each side, and failure to replace both struts can result in a warped or damaged hinge. Now also, if you have any additional questions regarding this gas strut or any other item we carry, please feel free to reach out to us so that we can get you all your questions answered for you. But that's gonna do it for a look at the Atlas Lift Custom-Fit Liftgate Gas Strut.
